Simple Bubble Recipes
Recipe 1:
What you need:
1 cup washing-up liquid or shampoo
5–6 cups water
If you have it (optional): 1 spoon sugar, honey, or syrup
How to make it: Gently mix everything together. Try not to whisk or shake too much — bubbles in the mix make it harder to use.
Leave it for 10–20 minutes if you can. (If you can’t, it will still work.)
How to use it: Dip your loop or wand in. Lift slowly.
Blow gently or let the air do the work. What helps:
Slow hands = bigger bubbles
What to expect: These bubbles might be small. They might pop quickly.
That’s OK :)
Recipe 2:
What you need:
To use with high quality washing up liquid (Fairy/Dawn/Dreft/Yes)
Measure using a small cup, a teacup, a tablespoon – basically one standard measuring utensil.
To a bowl, add:
1 part (cup) Washing-up liquid
1 part (cup) glycerine
10 parts (cups) water
SUPER EASY to remember too! 1:1:10 :D
Mix. Leave 10 mins if you can
Use with any small bubble wand
Recipe 3:
What you need:
To use for bigger bubbles.
Method:
To a bowl, or bucket, add:
2 tbsp Corn Flour (should again be in the cake aisle in your supermarket. Used for thickening sauces etc – this is also known as Corn Starch)
1tbsp baking powder, add
1 cup hot water. Mix to dissolve Corn Flour and then add
5 cups (rest of) water.
Mix thoroughly (the corn flour may never fully dissolve and leave you with a powdery residue – this will not affect the bubbles). Then add:
½ cup Washing up liquid (good quality if possible)
1 tbsp Glycerine
Simple Bubble Tools
Bubble tools can be made out of many things - from a little wire loop, to a triangle of string attached to sticks. Or maybe something you find lying around. Be creative and test what you find. Have fun!
